LISCIO

A new UK company (Onyx) has declared the Liscio a compact and lightweight mobile phone. A sleek, contoured and scores high as far as looks as concerned but when it comes to functionality it is a disappointment. The very first thing is the phone does not have a camera which is the biggest drawback as now a days except business phones almost every phone has a camera. Secondly the display is just 1.10 inches wide with a resolution of 96 x 96 pixel so you can bid goodbye to watching movies. Some of the features include FM Radio, MP3 player, Micro SD card slot (Max. 1GB) , 128 MB internal memory, Bluetooth and Polyphonic ringtones. The Onyx Liscio is available in the UK for £129.99 ($ 255) with no contract.

SAMSUNG laptop.

We don't see much of Samsung's laptops around these parts, and it doesn't look like the P200 is headed Stateside either, but it's certainly a solid entry into the ultraportable market -- which seems to be the new hotness these days.

The laptop has been circulating in the UK since February, but is finally "official" at CeBIT. The P200 runs on "Intel's latest" chips, up to the Core 2 Duo 9500, and integrated graphics come courtesy of ATI's Radeon Xpress 1250, with the laptop wringing 3.1 hours of life out of those chips with a 6-cell battery.
The 12.1-inch 1280 x 800 screen is no-gloss, and includes a built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam. The laptop also packs Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, Atheros Super G WiFi, 6-in-1 memory card reader, PCI Express card slot a whopping two USB ports.
The whole kit weighs in at rather hefty-for-its-class 4.2 pounds, and is available in Europe today starting at € 999 ( $1,517 US).

BRAVIA TV PHONE

We've been feeling the Walkman and Cyber-shot love from Sony Ericsson phones. With the success of the mobile merger with its parent's music and photography lines, the handset manufacturer has been unstoppable. So we weren't too surprised when it announced that it was yanking yet another Sony brand for a mobile makeover.

Meet the Bravia TV-phone, which uses a display based on the Bravia technology. Scheduled for launch this June, the Japan-only SO903iTV offers a 3-inch widescreen with a slide function for horizontal TV viewing, huge 240×432 LCD screen (16:9). Supposedly there is GPS, a 2mp camera, video recorder, Micro SD slot There's also time-shift video recording for a more complete TV experience, aside from the standard 2-megapixel CMOS camera and microSD card slot.

LG KU990 Viewty

A digital camera inside a cell phone is not exceptional these days. It becomes a different case when a 5 Megapixel digital camera is integrated in a mobile phone. And although there are more handsets equipped with a 5 Megapixel digital camera, for example the Nokia N82, Samsung G800 and the Sony Ericsson K850i, there is a vast difference in the quality of the camera. The KU990 is the first 5 Megapixel cell phone of LG. It looks like LG is starting to take mobile photography seriously. The Viewty is the successor to the LG Prada. The latter was introduced in the beginning of 2007. The LG Viewty is up to date with its large touchscreen, 5 Megapixel digital camera and multimedia player. The LG Viewty comes in a compact black box including a headphone, charger, CD-ROM and USB cable. We were able to test the LG Viewty extensively and our findings of this digital camera with cell phone function can be read in our LG Viewty review.
The LG KU990 Viewty is a true powerhouse packing a mass of high-tech goodies under its hood: the impressive 3" touchscreen display with 240 x 400 pixels resolution, the HSDPA 3.6 Mbps capability, the stereo Bluetooth and the highly intriguing 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, which is also capable of capturing video at 120 fps. Feature-packed and exquisite, the LG KU990 looks set on the fast track to success and we were more than happy to get our hands on it.
Key features
  • Tri-band GSM/GPRS plus HSDPA support
  • 5 megapixel autofocus camera with image stabilization
  • Camera strobe flash and focus assist beam
  • Secondary video camera for video calls
  • 3" 262K color TFT touchscreen display with 240x400 pixels resolution
  • VGA video recording at 30 fps
  • QVGA video recording at 120 fps
  • TV-out support
  • Original stylus dongle
  • DivX video playback
  • Haptic feedback when the screen is pressed

Main disadvantages

  • No hot-swap memory card capability
  • Having stylus as a dongle is an inconvenient solution
  • File management slows once the memory card starts filling up
  • Operating the zooming jog wheel gets in the way of the lens

The LG KU990 Viewty was only recently announced but it somehow fails to cause the same stir in the mobile community as the 5-megapixel Sony Ericsson K850 or the Samsung G600. Yet, as we managed to find out, it's a highly sophisticated device, that's quick to impress and certainly deserves attention.

The KU990 Viewty is not the first 5 megapixel cameraphone by LG. There are a number of reasons why their first attempt - the LG KG920 failed to gain noteworthy market share - the high price, the controversial swiveling design, and the slow camera interface, just to mention a few.
